Golf in Scotland Featurette

Written by
Scotland is the “home of golf” with a history in the game starting as early as the 1400’s. As with religious pilgrims, Golf enthusiasts from all over the world flock to Scotland and in particular St Andrews to take in the history of the game and play at world famous courses. To them Golf is not just a game but “a way of life”. The Royal and Ancient Club was set up there in 1754 which started “clubs” being established throughout Scotland. Award winning clubs / courses include Muirfield, Carnoustie, Royal Troon and Turnberry and of course Gleneagles where the Ryder Cup is to take place in 2014.
