Canna

A visit to Canna, the most westerly of the Small Isles, is a tonic for the soul. Approaching the island's buttressed cliffs aboard the ferry, there's a sense of the pressures of mainland life slowly releasing their grip. A small farming and crofting community still occupies this tiny island just 5 miles long and 1 mile wide, while archaeological evidence places people here as far back as the 5th millennium.

Isle of Lewis, or just Lewis

Lewis (also Isle of Lewis) is the northern part of Lewis and Harris, the largest island of the Western Isles or Outer Hebrides (an archipelago) of Scotland.

Lewis is, in general, the lower lying part of Lewis and Harris, with the other part, Harris, being more mountainous. The flatter, more fertile land means Lewis contains the largest settlement, Stornoway, and three-quarters of the population of the Western Isles. Beyond human habitation, the island's diverse habitats are home to an assortment of flora and fauna, such as the golden eagle, red deer and seals and are recognised in a number of conservation areas.

Millport

Millport (Scottish Gaelic: Port a' Mhuilinn) is the only town on the island of Great Cumbrae in the Firth of Clyde off the coast of North Ayrshire, Scotland. The town is four miles south from the Largs-based Caledonian MacBrayne ferry slipway.

Tourism is an important aspect of the economy. Due to its small size, the island and its town are often linked in the minds of visitors and residents. Millport has the smallest extant cathedral in the British Isles.
