Finlaystone Estate, near Glasgow in Renfrewshire, is owned and run by Arthur and Barbara MacMillan. Arthur's family have lived here for over 140 years. We have just built 2 similar properties to let in the heart of Finlaystone Estate, a privately owned estate overlooking the Clyde estuary with 10 acres of formal gardens and extensive woodlands to explore. The estate also has a small shop, a tea room and ranger service and is home to the Clan MacMillan Centre. Visitors can however easily access the many local places of interest ranging from Glasgow to Loch Lomond all within easy driving distance. For horse lovers, the world class Ingliston Equestrian centre is nearby and there are several world class golf courses within an hour such as Gleneagles, Royal Troon and Loch Lomond. It is a great base for any trip to the West of Scotland for business or pleasure.
The properties have been finished to a high standard and are perfect for 2 adults. An extra bed can be made up  if you want to bring a child.

The East Barn and West Barn are similar in size and layout. They are within a recently constructed oak framed building which combines traditional craftmanship with modern standards of comfort. Each Barn is  accessed by an external oak staircase.

The interior  open plan space is fitted out to a high standard with all the facilities one would expect. It has a fully fitted kitchen with microwave oven and nespresso coffee machine and a wet room with shower. A  wide screen TV is provided and wifi access is available. And although the thick insulation and/or radiators will keep the place warm, a log burning stove and wood is provided for added ambience and will keep you cosy whatever the weather.
There is a double bed in each Barn which we are confident you will find comfortable. We can also provide an extra bed should you require it.

The estate is open to the public in the daytime but the visitors are not intrusive and at night time the place is wonderfully quiet.

The Great Eskape Guided Period Bus Tours
Carnoustie

The Great Eskape offers a unique opportunity to explore Glen Esk, the longest and probably the most beautiful glen in the County of Angus. This is an area of unspoilt natural wilderness where little has changed over the passing years. There are high mountains, remote lochs, steep sided glens and tumbling burns. Ancient mounth paths once used by cattle drovers and whisky smugglers cross these hills and there is a rich history stretching back over thousands of years.
